As a drummer and a mic sales guy I have to rant about a recording I just did. 6pc drum set with (2) LCT340 for overheads (stereo) and a 640REX kick mic in a 22' kick with Remo Powerstroke 4 heads. Result= UNREAL! REALLY impressed! The kick mic was sick. I have used 98% of the kick mics on the market and this was sick. I used a blend of the dynamic (80%) and 20% condenser. Punch with attack with minimal EQ'ing. The overheads were clean with zero noise. I rolled off the low end at 40Hz. The snare popped out of the mic just great.
